Before first or reuse, rinse the mouthpiece with hot water and shake it dry. For low-pitched breathing, draw in just enough air to lift the ball in chamber 1 and bring the ball 2 to a rest in its initial position. Hold the ball 1 at its peak position for approximately 3 seconds, then exhale. For high-level breathing, inhale enough to bring the balls in the 1st and 2nd chambers to the top and not disturb the position of the ball in the 3rd chamber, and then exhale. In both exercises, be careful to remove the mouthpiece from your mouth while exhaling. Perform both types of breathing exercises under the supervision of a physician, nurse, or therapist.
